Corissa and I regularly pair worship art with the theme for the day here at Good Shepherd Lutheran in Cedar Rapids, but this is our first attempt at full sermon series based on the lectionary with matching worship art. This is what I’ll use at Good Shepherd, and if some or all of the pieces or ideas are helpful for you, that’s great, enjoy!
During the Sundays of Lent and Holy Week our theme is “Undefeated.” (Thanks to Pastor Garrett Alford for the theme idea!) I will be preaching on the Old Testament lessons, so the individual symbols especially focus on those readings. We are looking for ways to share with our congregation what is coming up in the lectionary as it relateds to the seasons of the church year. This worship art package focuses on visually sharing what the journey to the empty tomb will look like this year. You can order the coordinating symbols and power point images in the shop.
