Focused on Jesus. A sermon series on the book of Hebrews for Pentecost 20-24.

What are you focused on? What demands your time and attention? Maybe it is your work. Perhaps this time of year it’s school work. Maybe it’s your family. Sometimes we might get focused on our phones, a television series, or a good book. In Hebrews 3:1, we are encouraged to “focus your attention on Jesus.” During this series, we’ll do just that. God gives us lots of good things to focus on, but for a few weeks, let’s let go of all the distractions and make Jesus the priority. Focus on Jesus. For these last weeks of the season of Pentecost, our Epistle lessons go through selections from the book of Hebrews. As we focus on Jesus, we’ll see who he is, our brother. We’ll recognize his greatness. He’s greater than any of the Old Testament heroes of the Bible, even Moses. Yet he knows what you're going through. Jesus has been there through the temptations. He gives you the rest you need. He is your Great High Priest. He is your perfect sacrifice. Together, let’s simply focus on Jesus. Everything else can wait.
